Puerto Rico still not Like Before
Even after all the media coverage that the hurricanes that struck in the fall Puerto Rico has not received the same amount of help as Texas did. It's disgraceful that even after all the media coverage and how many celebrities have shown support for Puerto Rico, it has huge parts of land that don't have any electricity, one of the most immediate problems is power. Puerto Rico at one point lost 100 percent of its power soon after the storm hit on September 20. Noting that about 50 percent of the territory still lacks electricity, Cruz said the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) has been unable to bring back power to some of the most crucial centers for help and health care.

It has been 100 days since Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, and the U.S. territory is struggling with scarce resources and strained health care services, with about half of the island still lacking power, officials and residents told Newsweek. The struggles drag on as the death toll from the monster storm keeps rising—possibly topping 1,000 people—and local leaders say President Donald Trump still turns a blind eye to the island's pain.
“He has failed the moral imperative that any leader of the free world should hold at the highest level,” San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz said about the recovery efforts.
“All he needs to do is simple: do his job. I think the world has seen a commander in chief unable to command,” she said.
I think that what little help they have received compared to Florida and Texas is solely based on the belief that Puerto Ricans are not 'American' enough to deserve the same amount of help that others received. And the fact that Trump said we can't keep FEMA and other help in Puerto Rico is true but we can keep them there until Puerto Rico is where it was before the hurricane. We have enough moeny to waste billions on defense and military so we enough money to keep FEMA and other sources of help in Puerto Rico as long as they need our help.
Our leader has definetely failed the people of Puerto Rico. And its not the first time he's failed his people.
